We are ALWAYS losing power!
The cost is outrageous, I can't understand with the amount of money they get from us why our area is constantly losing power. We've literally had a few rain drops, same thing a week ago when we went without power for 12 hours. It's ridiculous.
The first line of they're website says something along the lines of "Our #1 priority is to provide our customers with reliable service."...WHAT A JOKE!
It's more expensive than any other provider and there is nothing reliable about it!

We set up automatic payment in 2019. Without any reason or authorization, they have stopped taking out the payment. They say I have to resubmit my application to protect my information, but they are going to have the exact same information so why delete it in the first place. Terrible customer service. They have an overflow answering service that is useless. All they can tell you is your current balance and that the office is having a high volume of calls at this time.

If you are considering a home that uses Heart of Texas Electric Coop, run away. Fast. The rates are absurd, there is little to no communication, and their online portal is impossible to use.

After having used recurring payments for a while, suddenly last month they couldn't access our card (even though nothing had changed). Instead of informing us of this so we could rectify the situation, we received an automated call the day our electricity was going to get switched off. We immediately got online to figure out what the issue was. I am so glad we went online to check because our average billing went from $100-$200/month to $520/month. We couldn't be more unhappy.

Constant power outages - no power for hours - terrible customer service - non transparent high billing for terrible services. Posting while sitting in the dark yet again in my home and no storms or rain. Forced to give 1 undeserved star in order to post. Just typical outage with HOT Electric Coop Inc. ?

The phone payment system received an update and it's absolutely frustrating and adds random numbers when typing account numbers and card numbers. The charges are also outrageous because we owed $600 in the winter during the freeze. I wish we knew what we were getting into before moving into our house

I've been using this electric company for over 30 years. It's reliable service. Whenever I have a problem and call in for help, I receive friendly, prompt help. The cost of electricity has gone up, but that's true of all of the electric companies.

We haven't had power in over 8 hours. I hope I don't get another $300 light bill from this and I hope someone is trying to restore our electric. well. got another $300+ electric bill. definitely considering another provider.

What in the heck is going on!! Saying higher bills are due to cost of gas. Why is it just affecting HOT. I've talked to other folks that says their bills aren't doubled!!!! In the past HOT has always been fair! This stinks!!
